The Sahara desert is the hottest desert in the world and the third largest desert in the world, second only to the southern and northern borders. It is also the largest desert in the world, but it is not the largest mobile desert in the world.   , 000 square kilometers is equivalent to the surface area of the United States.   The desert extends from the Red Sea in the east to Daxixiang in the west, and in the south there are Sahmi and the northern tip of central and western sub-Saharan Africa.   Some sand dunes in the desert can reach a height of 180 meters.

The Sahara Desert is a breathtaking place!   You can imagine golden sand dunes, Arabian castles, camel caravans in "Arabian Nights", emerald green land and desert land.   Although visiting the desert requires heat and long distances, you will definitely feel that everything is worth it when you get to this place:

The Sahara is a must-see for everyone who visits Morocco. If you haven’t been to this desert, you can’t call it a real visit to Morocco. But there are many deserts in the world. Why do tourists like to start from Morocco?

The Sahara Desert in Morocco has unique advantages. In terms of the development of African countries, Morocco faces Europe across the sea and was once colonized by different countries. It has more advantages in terms of cultural diversity and economic development, but in terms of geographical location   , the Sahara Desert is located in the small town of Merzouga (Merzouga), Morocco, which belongs to the western part of the entire Sahara Desert. It is not too far from Marrakesh (Marrakesh) or Fes (Fes).   The fastest return can be two days and one night. It takes three days and two nights to four days and three nights to go back and forth from Marrakech for one night. It only takes 45-50 minutes to arrive at the entrance town and ride a camel into the desert. You can also enjoy the sunset along the way   Beautiful scenery, travel arrangements are suitable for friends of different ages, and the quality of accommodation is also very high. Luxury-level camps provide hot water and private bathrooms. Hotels or RIADs in canyons and desert areas can also choose three-star or four-star prices.   Most of the boutique ones provide swimming pools so that tourists can experience swimming in the desert.

Where should the desert group start?

From Marrakesh (Marrakesh) or Fes (Fes) are common starting points, usually Marrakech into, Fes out, or the other way around, it takes about three days and two nights, or four days and three nights   .

From Marrakech to the Sandao camp, the distance is 545KM. To describe it vividly, it takes 8-9 hours to drive to this distance without parking. Therefore, it is impossible to go back and forth in one or two days. Entering from Marrakech   Sahara, it takes at least three days and two nights. On the first day, it takes 5 hours to drive from Marrakech Airport or the urban area. It passes through Ouarzazate on the way, visits the village of Ait Benhaddou, and arrives at Dades Canyon in the evening.   Stay overnight; start from the canyon on the second day, pass through the Thousand Forts Road, see large and small Berber manors on the way, drive for about 6 hours, arrive at the small town of Merzouga before sunset, and enter the camp on a camel;   Watch the beautiful sunrise in the desert in the early morning of three days, leave the camp after having breakfast, pass through the Monkey Forest Park, the French town of Ifrane, and arrive at the ancient city of Fes. It takes 7 and a half hours to drive to Dawu.   (For more itineraries from Marrakech, please click here.)

Entering the camp from Fes is closer than Marrakech. The distance between the two places is 490KM, and it can be reached in one day by car. Therefore, two days and one night can be arranged from Fes to and from the desert, but if you need to enter Fes and Marrakech   , it still takes at least three days and two nights.

Where are the desert groups for three days and two nights and four days and three nights?

The main difference: leave the camp directly on the third day, or stay in the desert to play more.

First of all, if you are entering Marrakech and want to exit Marrakech, then we sincerely recommend that you arrange a four-day and three-night itinerary.   Because if there are only three days, and you need to go back to Marrakech when you come out of Guandi on the third morning, you need to drive non-stop for 10 hours, that is, you wake up and watch the sunrise, and you have to start a long drive until the evening to return   Marrakech, this is very hard work for guests or private chartered drivers.

Second, if Marrakech and Fez enter and exit from two different locations, specifically, the three-day desert group enters the camp by camel before sunset on the second night, but leaves the next morning and stays in the desert for fun   The time of the four-day desert group is relatively short; the difference is that when you wake up the next day, guests can choose to stay in the camp for half a day, such as taking pictures, or participating in activities at their own expense in the desert camp (such as: sandboarding, desert motorcycles, etc.   ), in the afternoon, you can also visit the homes of Berbers, the original residents of the desert, to learn more about the local customs, stay at the hotel or riad at the entrance and exit of the Mekazur area on the third night, and return on the fourth day.

Recommendation:   4 days and 3 nights itinerary for in-depth tour of the Sahara Desert, 3 days and 2 nights itinerary for flash mob in the Sahara Desert

Best time to travel to the Sahara Desert :

Recommended: spring and autumn rainy season (September to December, February to June)

Desert summers are hot and winter nighttime temperatures can plummet. Avoiding these extremes will make your desert trip more comfortable.   The seasons in between are arguably the most ideal times, but be aware that the desert occasionally has unexpected deer storms, especially during April.   So, no matter when you decide to go to the desert, you must bring protective clothing such as jackets and headscarves to protect your skin and face from the sun and sandstorms above your head.   And, there's also the added benefit of keeping warm at night, as desert nighttime temperatures can drop considerably, even in the warmer months.

What are the advantages of the private tour in the Sahara Desert:

flexible itinerary, one-person group, daily departure, and the number of days is up to you.

To participate in our "CHINARED" desert private round, you can choose the route we recommend, or you can customize it by yourself. The itinerary is flexible, the number of people in the group, and the number of days are not limited. And as mentioned above, the journey in and out of the desert is very free.   Difficult, and passing through many canyon areas, guests who are not familiar with the terrain are not suitable for self-driving tours, and they will miss many suitable stopover points, so choosing our private group is the best choice, you can travel easily, or you can   Have plenty of time to enjoy the trip to the Sahara Desert slowly.

Is it difficult to ride a camel in the Sahara Desert?

Not at all, don’t worry if you have no experience, because riding a camel is a very interesting and unique experience. First, our camel-leading guy will assist you to hang your bag on the camel.   Hold the support frame on the camel, and the camel will stand up by itself when prompted, and the process is very safe!   At first, when you sit on the top of the camel, you may be a little worried when you are not used to the balance, but our camel boy will teach you how to adapt, and walk in front to lead and assist in taking pictures.   Once you get used to the action, you can enjoy the magnificent view.   Moreover, the camel caravans are linked together, which means that you and your friends will become a desert landscape, just like the camel caravan in the story of One Thousand and One Nights.
