Morocco's Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy Fatima Zahra Amor said Morocco's hosting of the 2030 World Cup is a "golden opportunity to consolidate the Kingdom's position as a global tourist destination". She stressed that Morocco's accommodation facilities are almost ready to welcome this international event.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Botola, Minister Amor talked about the far-reaching impact that the World Cup could have on Morocco's tourism industry. She pointed out: "We have an ambitious vision to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030. This historic event will undoubtedly provide a great boost to our goal."

She further added: "In terms of accommodation, Morocco is ready. According to FIFA's report, we have made significant progress in booking hotels to provide accommodation for major teams, and more than 90% of hotels have signed cooperation agreements. This achievement is inseparable from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Tourism, relevant partners and hotel owners."

Minister Amor also pointed out that Morocco's tourism industry is experiencing unprecedented development. She said: "By the end of November, we had received 15.9 million tourists, a record high. Based on this good momentum, we will continue to promote key goals within the framework of the roadmap, including strengthening air connectivity, developing accommodation facilities throughout the country, improving service quality and ensuring tourists have a pleasant experience." She emphasized: "Morocco will be a unique journey for our tourists."

Last Wednesday, FIFA officially confirmed by acclamation that Morocco, Spain and Portugal will co-host the 2030 World Cup. This is the first time that the Kingdom of Morocco has successfully won the right to host the World Cup, after the country had applied to host the event several times before.
